Lyrics

You’re the ant’s pants,
You can take a chance.
You’re the bee’s knees,
Bold as can be.
You’re brave and strong,
The whole day long.

You’re the cat’s meow,
The lion’s roar.
A bear hug,
And that’s not all.
You’re strong and brave,
Every single day.

You’re beautiful,
You’re strong and brave,
You’re my hero every day,
And I just want to say,
“Hey, you’re great!”
Hey you’re great!

You’re my lucky star,
You know you are.
You’re in the top spot,
Hey guess what?
You’re brave and strong,
You’re my number one.

You’re beautiful,
You’re strong and brave,
You’re my hero every day,
And I just want to say,
“Hey, you’re great!”
Hey you’re great!

You’re beautiful,
You’re strong and brave,
You’re my hero every day,
And I just want to say,
Hey!

You’re the ant’s pants,
You can take a chance.
You’re the bee’s knees,
Bold as can be.
You’re brave and strong,
The whole day long.

You’re beautiful,
You’re strong and brave,
You’re my hero every day,
And I just want to say,
“Hey, you’re great!”
You’re beautiful,
You’re strong and brave,
You’re my hero every day,
And I just want to say,
“Hey, you’re great!”

Hey you’re great!
Hey you’re great!
Hey you’re great!
Hey you’re great!

Further Activities

1. Wishing for superpowers

Use the magic wishing song from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUnOJUW4omU to wish for superpowers.  The children sing the magic wishing song, say the power they would like and then say “1, 2, 3 Abracadabra” to make it come true.

Starlight, starbright,
First star I see tonight.
Wish I may, wish I might,
Have this wish I wish tonight.

2. Musical Capes

Give each child a super cape (coloured scarf) and play the ‘Superman Theme’.  The children fly around with room like Superman, (one fist out to the front and one hand holding the cape over their shoulder so that it falls behind their back).  When the music stops they must go back to earth to rescue someone (sit down on their bottoms as quickly as they can).  Do not eliminate children or make anyone ‘out’.  Rather, tell the children that you will be watching carefully to see how fast they are at getting back to earth when the music stops.

3. It’s a Bird!

See which soft toys you can make fly like Superman.  Place them on the parachute one at a time and say the following rhyme:

It’s a bird, (gently lift parachute up and down once)
It’s a plane. (as above)
No, it’s Superman! (quickly lift parachute up, flinging the toy up high into the air once it’s on top)

We hope you enjoy!
